Methanol as Clean Fuel

AMPCO supports research & awareness on emerging clean energy applications for methanol through its longstanding membership in The Methanol Institute, the global trade association for the methanol industry.

Methanol’s use in transportation fuels is steadily growing because it is a versatile, affordable alternative fuel thanks to its efficient combustion, ease of distribution, and wide availability around the globe. Methanol is also among the lowest emission fuels for marine engines, so it is already making an impact in ports and on the high seas, powering tankers, ferries, pilot boats and more.

AMPCO has been a member of The Methanol Institute, the global trade association for the methanol industry, since 2006. Through the Methanol Institute, AMPCO actively supports research and awareness on emerging energy markets as well as on renewable methanol.
